Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” Costume Change #12
Year of Jane Russell: Day 211

Many of Jane’s costumes in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are dark or primary colors, so I love the splash of pale pink with this navy blue ensemble for the Paris scenes.

Year of Jane Russell: Day 210

Costume change #11 is only onscreen for a few moments, but this green wool number is a beaut. And with green shoes! I would totally wear this one to my library job.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” Costume Change #10
Year of Jane Russell: Day 209

For this second evening gown, the same blue fox fur stole was used. Travilla would recycle this gown a couple of years later for Revolt of Mamie Stover publicity.

Year of Jane Russell: Day 208

Today’s outfit is the fabulous ensemble Jane wears when she spots Malone spying on the python squeezing the goat. We should all own a coat of cream raw silk!

Year of Jane Russell: Day 207
The typed description for costume change #8 states that the black lace dress will be used in the “My Conversation” number, but in the final film the dress is just used in a romantic scene between Dorothy and Malone.

Here’s a scene still with the costume change from yesterday. The scene was cut from the final film, though a few frames of Marilyn on the phone made it into the trailer.

This blue dress is from a scene that was ultimately cut from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, but it’s still still rather fabulous. Love the matching collar and cuffs!

Year of Jane Russell: Day 204
Here’s Jane standing outside of Howard Hawks’ office wearing the gown from the dining room scene. It looks black in the film, though the typed description says it’s made up of blue bugle beads. I never noticed that the brooch and earrings are star shaped.

Year of Jane Russell: Day 203
Jane wears many fabulous Travilla outfits in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, but the chocolate brown crepe dress she wears for the cocktail party is probably my favorite.

Year of Jane Russell: Day 202
Building off of yesterday’s post, here is the same outfit as yesterday, sans the coat which is ditched for the “Aint’ There Anyone Here for Love?” number. I’m also posting the typed description which makes mention of the fabulous turquoise earrings.
