Before we leave the Moulin Rouge/Earl Carroll Theatre, here’s Jane leaving her mark on the place, accompanied by owner Frank Sennes.
Here’s another great shot of Jane and Connie Haines at the Moulin Rouge (former Earl Carroll Theatre) on Sunset Boulevard, joined by Marie Wilson.
Jane traveled the world performing with The Four Girls (Connie Haines & Beryl Davis, and occasionally with Della Russell & Rhonda Fleming). She always stayed friends with them. Here’s Jane with Connie Haines at the Moulin Rouge (former Earl Carroll) Theatre on Sunset Blvd.
In addition to her solo recordings, Jane also recorded and performed with Connie Haines and Beryl Davis for a number of years. Calling themselves, The Four Girls, they were initially joined by Della Russell and later Rhonda Fleming. Here’s sheet music for their rendition of “Do Lord.”
I don’t think it was possible for Jane to have a bad photo taken of her.
Jane is going in for the carve of a turkey she most certainly did not prepare as she hated cooking. Wishing all those who celebrate it, a Happy Thanksgiving, and a mellow day for those who don’t. ❤️
Here’s our Jane getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.
Going for an easy post today with a lovely portrait of our Jane.
Here’s Jane with Hal Prince, producer and director of Company, and Elaine Stritch who originated the role of Joanne in the production. Stritch did the U.S. tour of the show which opened up the role for Jane on Broadway.
Jane had crippling anxiety going into Company, but persevered and it was a successful milestone. After a few months she grew bored with the repetition and never did another Broadway show.
